Cevians has developed uniquely modified polymeric chains to provide enhanced photochemical performance. These unique materials complement or replace glass-based products. The manufacturing flexibility provided by the polymers expands the use of custom optical formulations when complex geometries or particular requirements like impact resistance or weight is beyond the performance of glass materials. Products can be rapidly developed from our large inventory of existing formulations or developed from the modification of molecular structures in a number of aromatic and non-aromatic chemistries including dithiolene, azo porphyrin, and phthalocyanine molecules— some with various precious metal ligands. Cevians’ manufacturing infrastructure can support small to large volume demand.

  • Synthesised at Cevians

Cevians has a vast number of complex organic chemical formulations that are synthesized in our laboratory in California. These formulations are used to modify a series of polymers including thermoplastics containing carbon groups that entail transesterification from BPA and diphenyl carbonate, polymethyl methacrylate or other specialty polymer resins.

  • Cutting-Edge Applications

Originally designed to satisfy the rigors of ground military equipment and specific military optical performances in the near-infrared, infrared, and laser energy spectrum, Cevians polymers are integrated into high-performance industrial and commercial sensors from LIDAR to AR/AV applications.

  • Conditioned for the Extreme

Material chemical structure and optical performance are designed to satisfy particular requirements including optical performance, thermo and photo stability in specific environmental conditions and mechanical resistance.

  • Material Flexibility

The materials are offered in pellets, inks, films, sheets or finished forms including over 50 injection molded geometry. The materials can also be coated using proprietary processes to increase surface resistance, reduce specular or diffuse reflection or even conductive thin-film layers.

  • Foundational Innovation

Our polymer materials are foundational to some of the highest performing components in our optical product portfolio and include the high-performance, high-transmission VKK innovation.
