Summary

The Project Engineer, Display Products, for aerospace and military applications will work out of our Montreal office and will be responsible for leading the development and delivery of display projects. This leadership position involves ownership of all aspects of product development, including reviewing and defining specifications, oversight of technical decisions and the scheduling and management of human and material resources to meet objectives. The Project Engineer will work closely with various parts of the organization, including engineering, quality, manufacturing, and business development. The position requires the individual to be well-organized, a self-starter, multi-tasker, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development team on a day-to-day basis to fulfill project mandate;
  • Clarify and manage technical requirements;
  • Interface directly with customers to manage technical and schedule requirements;
  • Lead internal and external design reviews;
  • Perform or manage engineering analyses in the fields of electronics, optics and mechanics;
  • Assist in the definition of qualification plans;
  • Support the business development team by performing technical presentations and concept development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering;
  • Minimum of ten (10) combined years of:
  • hands-on experience with designing electro-mechanical assemblies, preferably in the aerospace/defense industry;
  • project engineering leading technical designs, from kickoff to production delivery;
  • Strong analytical skills and practical knowledge of product development processes,
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a small team and work with customers directly;
  • Ability to apply project management fundamentals: scheduling, critical path, risk management and contingency planning;
  • Experience with Military/Aerospace Environmental and EMI requirements (MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, DO-160);
  • Mechanical design experience with SolidWorks;
  • Experience in LCD products in aerospace applications is a plus
  • Experience in electro-mechanical packaging and optical bonding a plus
  • Effective written/verbal communication skills and computer skills (Windows, Microsoft Office)
  • You must have US or Canadian citizenship or residency to be eligible for this position.
  • Bilingual in English/French.
  • Available to travel as required.
