Summary:

The Jr. Engineer, Strategic Vendor Management/Development is responsible for identifying, establishing, and managing strategic suppliers for Cevians Display Business Unit. Working closely with the product manager, R&D, quality, and engineering teams, this position plays a critical role in assessing vendor capabilities, both technical and commercial. The candidate will actively participate in strategic sourcing planning and serve as the main point of contact for various functional groups at the vendor’s organization.

The candidate will perform manufacturing cost and acquisition analysis, negotiate pricing and agreement terms, and define and establish manufacturing plans with vendors to ensure Cevians’ performance objectives are achieved. This position requires interaction with vendors from diverse cultural backgrounds, primarily located in North America and Asia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, establish, and manage relationships with strategic suppliers.
  • Participate in strategic sourcing planning.
  • Conduct manufacturing cost and acquisition analysis.
  • Negotiate pricing, agreement terms, and establish manufacturing plans.
  • Ensure performance objectives are achieved by aligning vendor outputs with company goals.
  • Collaborate with the product, R&D, quality, and engineering teams.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
  • 2 years of work experience.
  • Fluent in spoken Mandarin.
  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Ability to frequently communicate with Asia (5:00-10:00 PST).
  • Ability to travel to Asia (20% travel required).

Ideal Requirements:

  • Knowledge of ISO9001, ISO 13485, or AS9100D.
  • 2 years of experience as a quality auditor is a definite advantage.
  • 3 years of hands-on experience as a manufacturing engineer.
  • Experience in vendor development and management.
  • Familiarity with AMLCD display technologies, materials, and optics.
  • Strong technical background and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to establish strong relationships.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
  • MBA is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits:

Salary range: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 annually based on experience.
